Online school: Arya on online lessons during the pandemic: I feel bad for the kids who lack the school vibe
In an exclusive chat with ETimes-TV, TV host Arya, mother of 9, shared her worries and fears about online schooling and more. Excerpts ..
“I feel bad for my child, who is now in 4th grade. In my IV class, I did my first performance on stage. It was the time when I was exploring extracurricular activities. I always cherish the times when my dad took both me and my sister to school on a two-wheeler. That morning rain, the school uniform, the school atmosphere, everything is still fresh in my memories. I feel bad for all those kids who miss the school vibe. There are a lot of trending memes online where years later people would say, “This is a school, something like that existed in our time.” I’m afraid something like this will happen, ”Arya explained.
Arya also added that as a parent, she is also keen to keep her child engaged during summer vacation.
“These online courses are hectic for the kids. Consecutive lessons, projects, writing notes from pdf, etc. So I make sure I don’t force anything on him. It’s sad that I can’t take him anywhere during the holidays., but Roya understands the situation very well and she never asks for anything. She is happy in her own world of crafts and designs. Thanks to technology, otherwise things would have gone wrong. OTT platforms are from real saviors now, ”she said.
However, the actress has a special request from all parents.
“We are all under tremendous stress. But let’s make sure we don’t rub it on our kids. This online schooling is a new phase for children as well as for parents. Let our children learn it for themselves. Let’s be there and guide but not feed them with a spoon, ”she added.
