Bismarck Company Teaches Kids About Gun Safety
BISMARCK, ND (KFYR) – Competitive shooting is a little intimidating. But that’s why Mark Sandness, owner and operator of Capital City Sporting Clays, has developed a program to teach gun safety and lifelong shooting skills to children 17 and under.
He knows they will have fun while learning to wield a shotgun.
“They hit their first clay and they are smiling until the following week,” said Sandness.
Shooting isn’t just limited to kids, it’s an activity the whole family can enjoy.
“It’s a really cool activity to do with the family. We really love it, ”said Emily Risty, volunteer for Capital City Young Guns.
Capital City Sporting Clays was founded 26 years ago and there has never been an accident. That’s because Mark’s program makes sure to follow safety rules first, fun second, and marksmanship third.
According to Mark, “A shooting range is one of the safest places to be. “
Capital City Sporting Clays offers skeet, trap, five pit and sports fields, as well as leagues that can be played for most of the year.
